So unlike yesterday, today was freaking GORGEOUS and only somewhat chilly. And what a perfect day to have an interview!

The interview itself is for an assistant event manager at an event hall, so I needed an outfit that walked a fine line between professional and party, thankfully I have this dress which fits that description perfectly. Only it's sleeveless and I run cold-blooded. Thankfully I spied this fitted blazer I got on Black Friday a few years ago hanging out in the bag corner of my closet. Figured "what can it hurt? At least I'll be warm!" and surprise surprise it actually pulled everything together perfectly. Now if only I could wear heels again...

I've been wanting to wear this dress since I bought it last year at the Kenneth Cole outlet clearance- but sadly I got extremely sick a week later and never had the chance until now. (I felt awesome during my interview which is a key component in generally feeling better mentally for me.) I've noticed since the hardest months of my recovery that when I put an effort into my look I feel better about myself, which helps me mentally, which helps me physically- at least a tiny bit. The more I make a point to leave the house, be it to just walk around the mall for a bit or sit at the park, and the more effort I put into how I look (i.e. not just sweats and gross messy bun) the better I feel and its like tossing a ball down a hill. Soon enough I'm accomplishing goals and seeing a change in my life. I'm writing more and I feel less lonely and depressed. To think, I can make my life better looking out with just a simple dress and a little primping. That doesn't work for everyone, but I've always been a fashion nut so it's working so far for me.

But to say the least it's been a great day. My interview went great- enough to warrant a second interview at least! After that I stopped at Starbucks for a pick me up (I woke up at 3:30 and so according to my body I was hitting the 2 o'clock slump despite it being 10 am.) and had a great conversation with my barista and the barista that was on coffee making duty- I hope I made their day a little brighter at least. Got home and checked my email to find out I won 150$ worth of fancy lingerie from my favorite web window shopping site. I got a new battery for my recently found DS (hello cute guy at the battery store), and was feeling so good I bought a lotto ticket (sue me). Tonight I caught the ISS as it made a visible flight across the sky, and I'm still riding the high of last night's The 100 not ending super depressing again. Also I've been drinking TONS of water, which lets not lie, is a huge health boost.

I didn't include substitutes for the rings because these are two rings I have worn literally every second of every day since I got them for my Sweet Sixteen in 2004. My fingers were too chubby to wear them while I was recovering, but that weight is all gone, and they fit again!
